Welcome
Making a very important decision at the turn off for Seathwaite

The plan of Scafell Pike had changed to a much quicker Catbells. The main concern was the road conditions so we decided not to venture too far from the main roads. We set off from Portinscale.

Snow showers on a ascent of Catbells

Saw many robins today

Becoming clearer but not so over at Skiddaw

Quick stop

Andy scrambling over the first rock wall

Geordie and Paul not far behind

Catbells summit ahead

Looking down into Newlands

Approaching the final scramble

Very slippery here today

Another look into Newlands. The summits of Hindscarth and Robinson completely buried

Looking further south to Maiden Moor

Rod and Andy at the summit of Catbells

Alan

Looking off towards Borrowdale

Derwent Water looking very inky against the snow

An opening in the cloud. Could be promising!!

Looking back along Skelgill Bank on Catbells

Where has all the cloud gone?? The summit to ourselves!

Descending the tiny steps. Very slippery aswell

King's How and Grange Fell

.
Derwent Water and a still buried Skiddaw
