A crap night’s sleep in the tent and a few too many beers last night left me feeling cream crackered this morning. A coffee and a bacon roll at Pen-Y-Pass gave me some much needed energy for today’s clamber up Mount Snowdon. On the 3 other occasions that I have been up Snowdon I had started the walk at 2am so when we set off in dreary conditions this morning I felt accustomed to the poor visibility. I only managed to squeeze off a few photos on the way up due to how wet we were getting walking up through the cloud. We were impressed with Mark’s performance today. He looked tired when we arrived at the Snowdon Summit Café but we certainly didn’t feel like he had slowed us down. To our surprise the summit started to clear whilst we were in the café and we managed to get a few brief views of distance peaks breaking the cloud line.
During our decent the conditions got better and better and I managed to take more photos. We enjoyed plenty of banter with other walkers on our return journey. ‘Better move fast, the café is about to shut’ went down well. Although one guy’s wife looked pretty pissed off and gave her husband an icy glare.
