THE LAST DAY IN WALES. MY knees ACHED LIKE THEY HAD BEEN SMASHED WITH A HAMMER, I HAD DRANK TOO MUCH BEER, ATE TOO MANY SUPER NOODLES AND BARELY SLEPT. it had been well worth it though. so i didn't get to go to the isle of skye! this trip had been brilliant!! great hiking, great weather and great company.
could the fine weather streak have ended? usually moel siabod stands proudly from this position. we could barely see it this morning

not only was it dreary but also extremely muggy. the terrain was very boggy and visibility only got worse

approaching a disused quarry. well if we werent going to see much, we may aswell fool around here for a while and explorer the ruins

the stone skimming contest. i'm going to brag now and tell you that i kicked ass at this!

look at poor alan's face. we were all feeling the heat as we scrambled up the daear ddu ridge

following the not always obvious track up the ridge. you dont really need to always folllow it though, as there are plenty of fun scrambling options to be conquered

posing on the ridge

a brocken spectre. first time i've seen one. not very bold though and not easy to photograph but i've finally seen one!!!

looks like a clear summit ahead

mark just wants to sleep

breaking through the cloud

love this photo captured by alan. mark's face said it all. he's new to all this mountain fun.can you tell whether he enjoyed his first light scramble? i think he just wanted me to move on so that he could get off the ridge.

summit shot

snowdon wrapped in a blanket of cotton wool

tryfan. i zoomed into the original of this to see someone standing on one of the adam & eve stones.

it was now time to leave the summit and descend back into the cloud

following a faint track on the grassy north side of moel siabod

finally clearing up down here

crimpiau, craig wen

the view back to moel siabod is a lot better than this morning

the end of a great trip away to snowdonia. i hope i dont leave it this long again before i return. brilliant trip!!
